GOKU VS SAITAMA!!! WHO WOULD WIN IN A BATTLE?(VERSUS TUESDAY)

image

I’m sure many of you have probably seen this competition before. But I would like to see what everyone here thinks about this battle.

They are kind of similar, they both are super powerful and also have a ditsy side. But one is an alien which is a Saiyan and the other is a human who trained really hard everyday.

But who would win in a fight?

Now as for what I think, I really don’t know who would win. I mean it does take Goku 3 episodes to gain all his strength. Then Saitama just has to get close and punch him and then he is done.

But Goku is very powerful will Saitama’s punch knock him out. Idk ๐Ÿค”

So, who do you think would win in a battle?

TITAN SHIFTERS CRAZINESS

hqdefault

Well watching season 2 of Attack on Titan we are finding out that there are more Titan shifters. We already knew Eren and Annie were shifters, of course if you have watched Season 1.

Well, this season 3 more have been revealed and it was a surprise to many fans that only watch the anime. If you have read the manga you probably knew already. But it was still great to watch it in action. The new ones that were revealed were Reiner as the Armored Titan, Bertholdt as the Colossal Titan and Ymir as the Dancing Titan. There is another Titan that is walking around The Beast Titan that is super intelligent and can speak. :-0 They haven’t revealed who he is yet. If you read the Manga you know there is a lot more to come.

I just had to write that I am so happy with Season 2. They are doing so much justice for this season. I am also very happy that it wasn’t a let down like sometimes some second seasons can do.

The battles between the Titans are amazing. Ymir as the dancing titan when she had to protect the tower and reveal herself. She was whooping some titans ass. She was pouncing all over those titans and protecting her friends.

Now lets talk about that fight between Eren and Reiner. I mean WOW, just WOW. That was the best titan fight ever. I thought the fight between Annie and Eren was epic but this fight topped it. I loved that Eren was determined to try and win, he was not giving up even though he knew Reiner was stronger. I was upset that Berholdt the Colossal titan had to come and help Reiner out when he fell off the wall. Ughh

But all I can say is that I am super happy with season 2 of Attack on Titan, It did not fail me and I thank them for that. I am just super excited how they will execute the rest of the manga.

Well lets stay tuned.

JAPAN SOCIETY PRESENTS MANGA IN AMERICA: HOW ENGLISH EDITIONS ARE BORN -REVIEWย

JAPAN SOCIETY PRESENTS MANGA IN AMERICA: HOW ENGLISH EDITIONS ARE BORN

Well I attended the Japan Society’s Manga in America event. The place was packed with fans of Manga and I’m sure anime.

image

On stage there were 5 speakers:

  • Allison Powell who was asking the questions, she is a literary translator, editor and publishing consultant.
  • Ben Applegate is the director of Kodansha Comics and also is an editor as well.
  • Tania Biswas is an editor with Yen Press.
  • Ajani Oloye is an editor at Penguin Random House and also a freelance translator.
  • Deron Bennett is a letterer (person who puts the letters in the manga).

This event was very informative on the process it takes for a manga to come to the United States.

First, they made a valid point that in Japan, Japanese people read manga before watching anime. So if a manga becomes very popular they will turn it into an anime. Now in the U.S we watch the anime first and if the anime is popular then they will release the manga here in the states.

Another point they made which is very true, what is popular in Japan may not be popular in America. Sometimes some manga or anime may overlap and be popular in both places. Then there are times where an anime/manga in Japan is popular may not have the same effect in the U.S.

So based off those two points and others they decide from there which manga they should buy the license for to bring to the states.

Once they have the license they receive the Japanese version of the manga. They then send the books to the translators to translate the Japanese language to the American standard English version. Now learning the process of what the translators do is not as easy. They have Japanese dictionaries, thesaurus, and online search engines to help them translate. A saying in Japanese may not have the same meaning in English. So they have to find other correct words to use. Even down to the sound effects, they have to translate that to a sound we know in English. Something as simple as SWISH or GYAHHHH. They have to translate each panel individually if the characters are speaking or if they have sound effects.

After the translator finishes their job, an editor comes to look over all their work and fix any problems or mistakes they may see. Like a demonstration they showed the translator used a word that was too long, so the editor had to use a similar word that is shorter.

imageimageimageimageimage

After the editor does their finishing touches, in comes the letterer. This is something I never thought about with Manga, someone actually has to type the words on to the pages. As you can see in the picture above, there are some words that have to be bold or italic, Bold words are usually for when a character is screaming or shouting. Italic is a thought bubble. Everything is very tedious.

Last after the letterer is finish, the manga has a few final editors look over everything before they confirm that the book is ready for mass print.

So, I am very happy I did attend this event. I would have never thought of the process of manga coming here to America. But now I respect the manga even much more. Haha

POKEMON VS DIGIMON (VERSUS TUESDAY)

image

It’s versus Tuesday. Yayy it’s Pokemon vs Digimon.

So, I can not participate because I never really watched Digimon. I’ve only saw one episode and it was okay. Nothing special.

I just know both shows have little monsters and they  are cute haha. Plus they all battle.

So, tell me which show did you like best Pokemon or Digimon?

REVIEW (FEW SPOILERS)

I will start by saying I never read the manga so I am basing this off the anime. I binged watched the first season and about to get into the second season. Haha

This anime caught me by surprise. I didn’t know what to expect. When Kei was hit by the truck and his body started regenerating I sat up in my chair like whaaaaaat. It was crazy. It became really adventurous when Kei went on the run with Kaito. I was rooting for them to get away. I was also happy they were friends again. While on the run I was mad at how many people were trying to catch them. I was like noooo leave him alone. Haha

Towards the second part of the anime the adventurous side kind of winded down. It was still interesting learning more about the Ajin and what they are capable of. But the action fighting wasn’t there in the middle part of the series.

Then towards the end it was back to action and craziness when the movement made their move against the humans.

So the pace of this anime I will give it a 7/10 because the beginning and ending part were perfect. The middle section can kind of make you drift off somewhere else in your head.

The storyline is great because I do believe in real life the government will capture these beings and do inhumane experiments. I like that the Ajins look just likes humans and you won’t know who is one unless you kill someone and their body regenerates and they come back to life. Of course a boy like Kei who doesn’t know he is an Ajin goes on the run to not be captured is very realistic. I think everyone would run. Also, I do like that there is a character like Satล who would create a movement to stand up for Ajins. But also will become power hungry to become a ruler. It’s not very original but it’s still a good story. So on the story line I give an 8/10.

Many may not feel the same but I do like the animation style. The characters have a robotic feel to me. Almost 3D. My sister and niece did not like the animation.

Kei is a character you may not connect with because he is emotionally detached from people. There are some parts in this series where you see him helping others but then he can go back to being cold. His IBM (Invisible Black Matter) shows and says the same emotionless quotes he said in the past. There is a part you can feel for Kei is when he is being tortured by the government.

Kaito is childhood friend I hope he gets a bigger part in the second season. He seemed like a tough kid and very much down to do anything.

The character you may relate to or have more of a connection with is Satล because of his movement to stand up for Ajins. He is the antagonist and he is a good one. He fools everyone because you swear he is a good guy and then he turns around and is one of the worse. His battle scenes are epic. His sarcastic and yet funny sly comments are classic. His messages he sends to the world are interesting because at first he makes it seems he wants the world sympathy but in actuality he wants to take over the world.

So I will say this anime is worthy to watch. I did read their base audience are males but I’m a female and I enjoyed the show. I am ready to watch the second season now.
