This season I have been watching a good amount of anime. Some I was super excited came back on, others I am enjoying watching for the first time. Check out my thoughts below on ten anie so far.
MY HERO ACADEMIA
Izuku Midoriya dreams of becoming a super hero but was born without any superpowers in a world where it’s the norm. His favorite super hero All Might discovers the passion in Midoriya and shares his powers with him. He enrolls Midoriya into a High school that trains students to become superheroes.
I have fallen in love with this series since I first started watching it. So to have season 3 out just made my life better. There is more problems for the heroes in training. Deku (Midoriya) is still the Shounen who will never give up on his dream to become the best super hero. I love the relationship amongst the classmates. The villains are coming out the woodworks which I am super happy. The villains are even better and I love it. I am obsessed with Shigaraki. So far I am very happy with this season.
TOKYO GHOUL RE
Tokyo Ghoul Re is a sequel to Tokyo Ghoul. It follows Haise Sasaki who has been assigned a certain mission with his team known as the Quinx. They are a team of CCG investigators who are half human and half ghouls created by the CCG. While on his mission Haise battles his inner demon known as Kaneki who wants to be released.
If you didn’t read the manga then you may be a little lost. I know some people I have spoken to about Tokyo Ghoul Re were a bit confused because the season starts without really explaining the connection from the second season. But I do have to say I am happy with the season, the villains are the best. I am such a villain cheerleader I can’t help it. I am not a fan of Haise (Kaneki) because he is kind of lame. I loved Kaneki better. I do like the inner fight Haise has with himself to not become Kaneki. Overall it is still entertaining, the fight scenes are pretty epic.
SWORD ART ONLINE ALTERNATIVE – GUN GALE ONLINE
It follows a girl Karen Kohiruimaki who always felt different than others in the real world. She found it hard to make friends with girls her age. Her world changes once she is introduced to VR and Gun Gale Online. While she is in GGO she feels alive and her true self, but can she make friends in GGO?
This was a surprise for me. I do like Sword Art Online but usually after a few episodes I get bored. But this SAO is pretty awesome. Lenn is such an interesting character. Her little body and her speedy feet helping her to defeat the other Gun Gale Online players is pretty cool. Her partner M is a silent killer and I like it. They were a cool duo. The show is so fast pace and fun. I haven’t gotten bored yet. I am always looking forward to what will happen next. I have to say it is really good.
FOOD WARS – 3RD PLATE CONTINUED
Food wars follows a boy named Sōma Yukihira who grew up in his father, Jōichiro Yukihira’s restaurant. His father taught him all about cooking and they would compete against each other in cooking battles. Every time Sōma would lose. Hahah One day Sōma’s father receives a job to cook abroad and around the world. So he closes shop and then enrolls Sōma in to an elite culinary school where only 10% of students manage to graduate. Here at this school Sōma meets many student who are all skilled at cooking. Many of them each specializing in something specific for cooking such a meat, curry, Italian cuisine and etc. While in the school the kids are faced with many cooking challenges and battles as well. You witness Sōma developing as a chef and reaching his goal of becoming better than his father one day.
I have to stay the first half of season 3 was not the best. But this second half they def stepped it up. The council vs the students is a good dynamic to the show. You are definitely rooting for the underdogs. Yukihira is still his awesome self and to watch him help his dorm mates is pretty cool. One negative thing I have to say about the show is the food is not as good looking as it usually looks. Surprising to say but my mouth isn’t watering when I’m watching this second half of season 3.
NOT TOO BAD
One day while in his apartment Yoshifumi Nitta a Yakuza member has a mysterious girl appear. She has telekinetic powers and is named Hina. Natta ends up taking care Hina and we follow their adventures together.
This is not the best show at all, but it has a slice of life feel to it. I am not a fan of slice of life but this show is funny. It really has no point to the storyline but it is entertaining. The two main characters Hina and Nitta are a funny duo. They are completely different in life and personality but to have them together is just funny.
LOSTERAGE CONFLATED WIXOSS
Homura returns to her childhood hometown Ikebukuro. She starts to attend high school but doesn’t fit in. She sees other kids are playing a card game called WIXOSS and decides to learn to play. She hopes this will help her get friends. She buys a deck from the card store and opens the pack. A girl on the card begins to move and speaks “welcome selector”. A selector are players chosen to battle for 5 coins that holds all their memories. Every fight they lose they lose a coin. Every fight they win they gain a coin. If they win all 5 coins they can leave the game. If they lose all 5 coins then they lose their memories.
This season of Losterage is going good. It’s not amazing or anything. I do like the first season better. This season they changed a few things with the game. The game is bringing back the selectors who fought in season 1 to fight yet again. It’s till entertaining but again it’s not amazing.
At Shujin Academy there are a group of vigilante students who use their psychic powers to eliminate corruptive desires within people’s hearts.
I literally watched this show because the main character was super cute. At first it seemed kind of interesting but then it started to get a bit annoying. Jumping from world to world and stopping criminals ugh become kind of repetitive. Again the main character is hot. That’s why I’m still watching hahah
Anzai who is half devil (vampire) is part of the shadowy police task force saves college student Tsukusa from an attack by a devil. Anzai continues to protect/guard Tsukasa after the attack. They begin to fall for each other and it tests Anzai’s devil side to not hurt her.
At first I thought this was going to be good because it was a vampire genre. I’m all for vampires. But it took a turn when it turned into a romance anime. The annoying oblivious girl who is always in danger falling for a vampire. Ugh as if this story hasn’t been told already. I’m not here for it.
Well, those are my thoughts for the half way mark. What are your thoughts on the season so far???
