MIKASA ACKERMAN VS ANNIE LEONHARDT (VERSUS TUESDAY)

image

Now this is a fight I would love to see. My fav females in Attack on Titan. This fight will be in human form so Annie can not change into a Titan.

I was so upset when season 2 gave a snippet of a fight that was about to happen. But then they changed to another scene and left it unanswered.

Well if that fight were to happen who would win?? Well Annie had some combat skills with her hands. Plus her special move is everything. But mikasa is a killer with swords. She is almost as good as Levi.

So would would win ummmm I would have to go with Mikasa because we have seen her on the battlefield more than Annie.

Who do you think will win this battle Mikasa or Annie?

IS IT WRONG TO BINGE WATCH ANIME??Β

I know many anime fans can sit down and watch a whole series in one day. Or even crazier watch many series for a straight period of time. I know I am very guilty of this.

Well to start off, I decided not to go out this Memorial Day weekend with my friends because I wanted to watch and also catch up on anime. My reason is, I’m always going out with my friends plus I work as well. I need some me time which is with my anime. So of course they were a bit upset. πŸ˜’

Now there has been times where I stayed home for a whole week on my vacation watching Kuroko’s no Basuke (Kuroko’s Basketball) all three seasons because I was hooked. I could not turn away and I didn’t want to stop watching.

There is another time when I was in between jobs that all I did was watch anime. Sometimes I do forget to hang with my friends or family. 😳😳 But anime is an addiction.

The shows are just sooo good. It’s the storylines, the characters and especially the cliffhangers. The cliffhangers are the main reason why I watch anime. I need to know what happens next. Forget life outside until I know what is going to happen in this show. Ugh so hard. Plus if I didn’t binge watch anime how am I going to keep my blog going. Duh πŸ™„

At least I still have a healthy lifestyle where I still have my friends and I still have a job. Hahah

I think it depends on how bad you binge watch anime.

What do you think, is it wrong to binge watch anime?

GOKU VS SAITAMA!!! WHO WOULD WIN IN A BATTLE?(VERSUS TUESDAY)

image

I’m sure many of you have probably seen this competition before. But I would like to see what everyone here thinks about this battle.

They are kind of similar, they both are super powerful and also have a ditsy side. But one is an alien which is a Saiyan and the other is a human who trained really hard everyday.

But who would win in a fight?

Now as for what I think, I really don’t know who would win. I mean it does take Goku 3 episodes to gain all his strength. Then Saitama just has to get close and punch him and then he is done.

But Goku is very powerful will Saitama’s punch knock him out. Idk πŸ€”

So, who do you think would win in a battle?

TITAN SHIFTERS CRAZINESS

hqdefault

Well watching season 2 of Attack on Titan we are finding out that there are more Titan shifters. We already knew Eren and Annie were shifters, of course if you have watched Season 1.

Well, this season 3 more have been revealed and it was a surprise to many fans that only watch the anime. If you have read the manga you probably knew already. But it was still great to watch it in action. The new ones that were revealed were Reiner as the Armored Titan, Bertholdt as the Colossal Titan and Ymir as the Dancing Titan. There is another Titan that is walking around The Beast Titan that is super intelligent and can speak. :-0 They haven’t revealed who he is yet. If you read the Manga you know there is a lot more to come.

I just had to write that I am so happy with Season 2. They are doing so much justice for this season. I am also very happy that it wasn’t a let down like sometimes some second seasons can do.

The battles between the Titans are amazing. Ymir as the dancing titan when she had to protect the tower and reveal herself. She was whooping some titans ass. She was pouncing all over those titans and protecting her friends.

Now lets talk about that fight between Eren and Reiner. I mean WOW, just WOW. That was the best titan fight ever. I thought the fight between Annie and Eren was epic but this fight topped it. I loved that Eren was determined to try and win, he was not giving up even though he knew Reiner was stronger. I was upset that Berholdt the Colossal titan had to come and help Reiner out when he fell off the wall. Ughh

But all I can say is that I am super happy with season 2 of Attack on Titan, It did not fail me and I thank them for that. I am just super excited how they will execute the rest of the manga.

Well lets stay tuned.

JAPAN SOCIETY PRESENTS MANGA IN AMERICA: HOW ENGLISH EDITIONS ARE BORN -REVIEWΒ

JAPAN SOCIETY PRESENTS MANGA IN AMERICA: HOW ENGLISH EDITIONS ARE BORN

Well I attended the Japan Society’s Manga in America event. The place was packed with fans of Manga and I’m sure anime.

image

On stage there were 5 speakers:

  • Allison Powell who was asking the questions, she is a literary translator, editor and publishing consultant.
  • Ben Applegate is the director of Kodansha Comics and also is an editor as well.
  • Tania Biswas is an editor with Yen Press.
  • Ajani Oloye is an editor at Penguin Random House and also a freelance translator.
  • Deron Bennett is a letterer (person who puts the letters in the manga).

This event was very informative on the process it takes for a manga to come to the United States.

First, they made a valid point that in Japan, Japanese people read manga before watching anime. So if a manga becomes very popular they will turn it into an anime. Now in the U.S we watch the anime first and if the anime is popular then they will release the manga here in the states.

Another point they made which is very true, what is popular in Japan may not be popular in America. Sometimes some manga or anime may overlap and be popular in both places. Then there are times where an anime/manga in Japan is popular may not have the same effect in the U.S.

So based off those two points and others they decide from there which manga they should buy the license for to bring to the states.

Once they have the license they receive the Japanese version of the manga. They then send the books to the translators to translate the Japanese language to the American standard English version. Now learning the process of what the translators do is not as easy. They have Japanese dictionaries, thesaurus, and online search engines to help them translate. A saying in Japanese may not have the same meaning in English. So they have to find other correct words to use. Even down to the sound effects, they have to translate that to a sound we know in English. Something as simple as SWISH or GYAHHHH. They have to translate each panel individually if the characters are speaking or if they have sound effects.

After the translator finishes their job, an editor comes to look over all their work and fix any problems or mistakes they may see. Like a demonstration they showed the translator used a word that was too long, so the editor had to use a similar word that is shorter.

imageimageimageimageimage

After the editor does their finishing touches, in comes the letterer. This is something I never thought about with Manga, someone actually has to type the words on to the pages. As you can see in the picture above, there are some words that have to be bold or italic, Bold words are usually for when a character is screaming or shouting. Italic is a thought bubble. Everything is very tedious.

Last after the letterer is finish, the manga has a few final editors look over everything before they confirm that the book is ready for mass print.

So, I am very happy I did attend this event. I would have never thought of the process of manga coming here to America. But now I respect the manga even much more. Haha
