SHINICHI IZUMI

Shinichi is a regular 17 year old teen who lives with his parents and one night while he is sleeping a Parasyte tries to take over his body through his ears, but since he was wearing headphones the Parasyte takes over his right hand. Because the Parasyte didn’t take over his brain Shinichi and this Parasyte now named Migi are able to co-exist with their own personalities and minds. Later in the series Shinichi is cut through his chest and almost dies but Migi helps restore him by adding some of his cells to heal his wounds. Shinichi’s looks and personality begins to change. He gains super human abilities and becomes less emotion. His family and friends begin to worry about him. Shinichi wants to try and get rid of all the Parasytes before they take over all the humans on earth.

MIGI

Migi is a Parasyte that one night tried to take over Shinichi’s body. Because Shinichi was wearing headphones while sleeping Migi was unable to take over his brain. He had to connect to the human before he would have died. So now he has taken over Shinich’s right hand. Migi means right in Japanese. Migi and Shinichi begin to co-exist together. Migi learns to speak the human language and learn as much as possible about humans. Migi’s way of living is to survive and think logically compared to humans who live to save others and think emotionally.

REIKO TAMURA

Reiko Tamura is a Parasyte that took over the body of Ryoko Tamiya. Reiko poses as a high school teacher at Shinich’s school. She notices Shinichi and Migi warns Shinichi of Reiko being a Parasyte. Reiko is motivated to know more about her species being and reason for being what they are. She becomes pregnant by a human and is able to Carry a child. She then has the child mush faster than a human which takes 9 months. She is a very strong Parasyte and is very valuable to her species. Even they fear her as well.

SATOMI MURANO
Murano is Shinichi’s childhood friend and love interests. She attends the same high school as him. She begins to notice a change in Shinichi from the clumsy loveable guy to the emotionless person he becomes. She doesn’t have any idea about Migi or about Parasytes at all. Throughout the series she is always questioning Shinichi if he is the real Shinichi.

REVIEW:
The originality of this story is so good. It captures you once you start. My mom came in and saw me watching this in our living and it captured her. She started watching it with me. 👍

The story makes so much since because I do believe that one day parasites will take over our bodies and will blend in with every other human.

Next, The journey you take with Shinichi from becoming a nerd who is a nobody and can’t fight to this hot guy who has less emotions and can whoop ass is awesome. Watching him grow and having inner fights with himself whether he should act on his emotions or be more logical. His relationship with his friends and family from beginning to end is a great development for his character.

The character Migi is so unique because being another species and thinking only logically when presented with a situation is like no other. No emotions involved at all.

The relationship between Shinichi and Migi is remarkable. Shinichi a human who tries to save people whether it puts his life in danger and acts on his emotions a lot. Migi who will save his own life to survive than protect others always thinking logically. Their relationship grows and they become close is so great.

The Parasytes throughout this show gets crazier and crazier. They all pose as humans but when they are ready to feed or fight you see their true form. Every Parasyte Shinichi has to face up against gets stronger and crazier looking.

There are some tear jerker moments. So sad 😢😢😢

As I said this show is amazing. It’s a must watch. This is a show I can watch every time it was on toonami. Hope you enjoy.

I really had this anime in my 2016 watch list, but somehow my friend convinced me that the ending of the anime was not much sound. I have read mixed opinions online too. How did the ending fair from your POV? I really consider the ending to be the most important part 😁, so the opinion might help 😃

I think that the ending was very reasonable. So many series really do not “end”. You watch 24 episodes, and nothing happens. It would be possible to continue an ongoing story, but it is better PTM ends in a satisfying way.

Maybe another story arc with another main character. His story has a happy ending, or reasonably happy.

While I liked the ending I was not turned on by the environmental-ethics theme — explanation about pollution being responsible for the aliens being able to thrive.

I am currently right in the middle of Psycho Pass, after that it’s Steins Gate, and right after that it’s Moribito. When I am finished with those, pretty much anything is in for grabs, so might be checking this one out. Great post and looks like a very cool show, that is pretty much what I usually enjoy watching 😀

I enjoyed this series. I do need to go back and re watch it because I missed a few episodes. But Shinichi growth was definitely interesting. Even when he became cold could see his logic. Except with the whole puppy in the trash thing. that was sad yo
